Frequently Asked Questions

  • A: The Revo Continental and Revo Sprite are the industry standards for Dragonframe integration. Unlike consumer turntables, Revo units are engineered specifically for the precise, incremental movement required in stop motion. They connect directly to Dragonframe via our Transmogrifier or the DMC-32, allowing animators to program complex, repeatable moves for both heavy sets (up to 400 lbs) and intricate tabletop work without manual interference.

  • A: For heavy inventory, you need an industrial-grade turntable like the Revo Continental, which supports a payload of up to 400 lbs (180 kg). While standard plastic turntables will stutter or fail under weight, the Continental uses a machined aluminum chassis and high-torque motor to ensure smooth, jitter-free rotation for appliances, furniture, or even live models. If you want to learn more, feel free to reach out through our contact email. We can answer your questions or schedule a call—we’ll walk you through what best suits your needs to get going.

  • Yes. This requires a unit with dedicated rigging points, which both the Revo Sprite and Continental have. The Sprite features a versatile cheese plate design with multiple tapped holes (1/4-20 and 3/8-16), allowing it to be securely mounted to C-stands, trusses, or tripods. It is capable of operating in any orientation—vertical, inverted, or sideways—making it ideal for pouring shots, liquid SFX, and gravity-defying angles. While the Continental has mounting holes, it does not have a full cheese plate. We have a number of ways to mount both upside down. If you have any questions about a specific project, feel free to get in touch. We’ve probably done something similar and can help to get you going.

  • A: Revo North America turntables are precision-machined and assembled in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. We use local manufacturing to ensure industrial grade durability. This "Made in USA" standard guarantees that our equipment can withstand the daily rigors of rental houses and high-volume commercial studios.

  • A: Yes. The single most frequent issue customers have is poor RJ45 (ethernet type) cable issues. This effects the accuracy, especially the ‘back to 1’ motion of our turntables. This issue is easily solved by trying another cable. We recommend having at least two cables on hand at all times. The longer they are, the more likely there can be interference.

That said, we get away with using 30’ + cables all of the time! Strangely, we’ve recently found the most reliable to be among the cheapest: Amazon Basics. It’s no endorsement…but they seem to work well for us!

  • A: Yes. We designed the Revo Sprite to be the most versatile tool in your kit. The platter is tapped with industry-standard 3/8”x16 holes, making it easy to mount cheeseplates or custom accessories. It can be used on a table, floor, or even mounted to a C-stand—sideways or upside down—to accommodate any production environment.
